The article, written by Francesca Salamanna et al. was published in the April Issue (Volume 37,4, pages 867-876) of the Journal of Orthopaedic Research. The aim of this study was to verify the improved efficacy of the innovative intra-articular treatment based on the combination of HA and a lactose-modified chitosan (Chitlac®) with respect to HA alone and saline.
The present results show that Arty-Duo® injections produce a significant improvement in the knee articular cartilage and reduced synovium inflammation in a rat model of DMM-induced OA.
The publication is the result of the collaboration between JT, the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute (I.O.R.) of Bologna (Italy) and the University of Padua (Italy).
